Stained-Glass Lights: Green Leaves

A single-colour botanical pattern tests the glass itself rather than the drawing.

1 format Ø30 cm

In multicoloured glasswork, contrast masks differences in glass quality. In a green field there is nothing to mask with: every leaf must differ from its neighbour in shade, vein and density, or the shade becomes a flat patch. This pattern is built from glass of several different rolls, not from one sheet.

The light comes out calm and slightly cool. It is one of the few patterns that does not turn the room into an accent: a green-leaf lamp can go where there is already colour.
