Stained-Glass Lights: Ocean Dragonfly

The difficulty is in the wings. They are built from elongated pieces of directionally rolled glass, and the veins are drawn by the solder line itself rather than by paint. The wing ends up transparent and rigid at once — an effect printing on glass cannot reproduce.

The ocean palette — blue-green glass with a cool cast — throws slightly cooler light than the floral patterns. It works well surrounded by warm wood: it holds a contrast instead of blending in.
