Baroque Lights with a Shaped Edge

The same geometry, but the lower edge of the shade is not straight — it is cut into points.

The shaped edge changes the shadow more than the shade itself. A straight edge throws one continuous oval of light on the wall; a toothed edge breaks it into a rhythm — more noticeable in the evening than the glass pattern is by day.

Every point has to be finished separately: the edge is ground, wrapped in foil and soldered along the contour. That is why the bottom line of such shades always reads slightly heavier in colour than the field — that is the seam, not a defect.
